You would need a database with a server side language (ASP, PHP, .NET). Most free hosting companies are not going to support that because it uses resources on the server. And most free hosting companies place ads on your web site.
Re-consider and put in $20 a month into your business for a web host provider.

Hello Sphinx,
I don't think free websites are a good idea. I have had quite a frustrating experience with one - http://www.ngosofindia.com. After I bought the domain, I did a lot of haphazard (listening to one internet advice after another) things. I have owned that site for about two-and-a-half years, but I have made only $7.40 on it through google adsense.
While for the next one I used Site Build It! (SBI). SBI is worth $300 /year but it's more than worth every dollar. I used it to build my second website http://www.experiential-learning-games.com. It's one and a half months since I started the website. The SBI package not only handheld me through the building process of a content site, it also assisted me in finding profitable Search engine optimised keywords for the various pages of my website. The package also guided me through building traffic for my website. So much so that my Alexa traffic ranking moved from 4.6 million to 896,000. The functionalities available with SBI would otherwise cost you around $6000 on your own. http://compare.sitesell.com/empower-people.html
My next effort is to continue building content and traffic for another couple of months and then monetise my second site. I am aiming to make $2000 from my website.
Since SBI I have used some of the learnings on my older site and within a week I made $1.12. It needs a lot of improvement and I will continue to do so in the next couple of months.
So I would advise you to buy SBI. If you do not want to spend immediately, you can try their one-month free trial and check out the SBI package and commit to keeping it a month later. You'll find the details at http://www.sitesell.com/empower-people.html
Check it out and decide for yourself.

Hello Dylan,
Another absolutely free way of building a website which can be monetised almost immediately is to start blog pages on http://www.blogspot.com.
Once again your aim should be to make it a content site, post to it regularly and ping it regularly. Alongside add google adsense to it once you have thirty pages in your blog, so that the ads that get published on your site are relevant on it. Make your blog pages infopreneural in nature so that people love to come back to it considering you have valuable information to share on your blogpages.
If you chose this option there are other SBI resources you can use for free which will make your efforts focused.
Let me know if you decide to do so.
regards,
Leena |

Do you know of any good web hosting companies? I'm looking for a web hosting company to host my business website. I'd like to conduct some e-commerce and also to be able to set up a content management system on my site. Do you know of any good web hosting companies that could accomodate someone with needing these features?

Hi, why don't you Google 'free web hosting sites'... You'll get good results. Try it and see it for yourself as to what exactly you want. Good luck!
