I have downloaded the software, now I need to create a database. Could someone tell me what i have to do.

Which version of MySQL is it?

I think it would be the best if you can download a GUI client to work with MySQL if you've just started using it otherwise you can use CREATE DATABASE db_name. for more information please go here http://www.mysqltutorial.org/mysql-create-drop-database.aspx
