Web Hosting with Access to a Database

I am looking for a web host that will allow me to upload files with html, javascript and asp.

My site will allow users to search with results returned from my database.

How would a web hosting allow this access to my database?

The database would be on the web server. TechEvolution or ORCS Web are two good hosting companies.
