| I have been told by many of my online buddies that bluehost.com is a good place for a decent host. I am not going to run a business or anything, I just want a website to play with that is cheap and easy to use. google pages and geocities are a joke, so many ads and pop-ups...I want a reliable host that I can fully customize to meet my needs and do with as I please, mainly just tinker as a hobby and be able to store files, images, videos, etc... I have tried a few other hosting websites and had bad experiences with constant downtime and horrible customer service with being put on hold literally for an hour at a time...Please any help would be great...thanks! |

I have never used them but it does look like they are overselling some. For example, Usually a HD on a server is about 160G maybe 240G. And they are selling 50G of diskspace. Let's say that they only have 100 clients on there. What were to happen if all those clients decided to use all 50G of their space?
A lot of hosting companies oversell - and that can cause problems. You might also check out www.techevolution.com - that is who we sold to and they have been great.

I clicked on the link and appeared like a DNS error on my end and at this point replying to your post, I discovered that the link you specified was wrong.

Thanks, Corey.
I thought this might be useful for those who have searched their way from search engines to this thread. Correction and addition of information on a old thread is not just for OP. |

Unfortunately from what I have seen in the past, users will search for specific keywords they are looking for and then will start to post in those threads.
Look for more current threads to post in, most users will see the date of the thread and will either look at the links right after that thread or will post a new question.
