Doesn't seem to want to use an image via the URL box. What am I doing wrong?

Dates for Image Map Links box going outside of the box in Firefox (2.0.0.16).

I am not getting any of these problems. I just installed Firefox 2.0.0.16 and date on the main page for the links look fine.

Mapping a image from a url also works for me. What Operating system are you on?

Using latest version of Firefox (2.0.0.17) and Vista Home Premium. Tried a different URL and a different browser. Same problems.

Sorry, but the LATEST version of Firefox IS NOT 3.03! You are using an entirely new Firefox browser. The latest version for the 2.0 series is 2.0.0.17 which was just released a few days ago.

PayneLess, why do you say the latest version is 2.0.0.17? It's clearly 3.0.3. mgwalk even gave a link to the official site.

Because there are two versions of Firefox, 2 and 3. Version 2 is still supported with auto upgrades. Version 3 is not an automatic upgrade and you have to upgrade from the ver3 offical site. Once you upgrade to ver3 then you get auto upgrades.
And there are rendering differences between the two versions.
