Hi!
I'm new to the site and I also have a few 'simple' questions. I work on the webpage for my school newspaper: http://www.kirkwood.k12.mo.us/parent_student/khs/call/index.htm)
The Kirkwood Call Online (eCall). If you check out the "Call Extra's" folder and click on "Poll" (on the right) you will see a basic code poll using a valid email account.
My question is as follows:

1) When you click on "Submit" it will automatically open the predetermined email program every computer has. (Windows = Outlook Express). We are wanting to change that to which ever program they like (Such as Yahoo or Gmail). Is there any way to do that? We do ask for their email address for Voting validation, can we use that?

2) And my last question, can we make a better poll? Is there a way to automatically tally the votes? I would be willing to sacrafice the validation process for this type of code. (We don't have any money to work with, so It would have to be handwritten code, or a free site).

Thanks to anyone who reads this. Even if you cannot help.

Ok, for your first question the email it brings up is the email the person sets as default on their computer. If they want to they can change their defaults.

As for number two, you will need something serverside like php. I really don't know anything serverside so hopefully degsy can help you with that.

EDIT:
Some people also use Java to do server side, but this is harder.

Welcome to the forums jbchild788!

We have an HTML Forums topic area that might be better suited for this question - since this topic is is the Introductions, it might be missed by some.
