matching background to wix layout

so my friend made a flash myspace layout on wix.com but when he added it to myspace, his background is white. he wants to change it to black to match the layout but it says hed have to go to his profile editor and upgrade to myspace 2.0 to change it and hes unsure if his layout will still work if he upgrades. is there another way to change the background color without him having to change his myspace version?
